Cloud Horizon is founded. Our initial focus was on providing cloud computing consulting services using Amazon Web Services and Windows Azure. In 2009 we were 2 people and we served our first 4 clients.
This is our story
We are certified as a Microsoft Partner and an Amazon Web Services solution provider. Cloud Horizon also receives a technology grant from the Fondation Montreal Inc. We closed 2010 with 4 team members having served about 8 new clients.
We embarked on our first product initiative: MyPhoneKey. Although the product idea was not taken to market, we learned a great deal. In 2011, Cloud Horizon also won the West Division prize of the Concours Québécois en Entrepreneuriat for Technology and Innovation. We reached 7 team members this year and served 10 new clients.
This was our year of big changes. We hit the reset button at the end of 2011 and made the decision to refocus the company. We saw mobile as the way forward and re-aligned our company strategy accordingly. We started the year with 2 team members and ended it with 4, having served 8 new mobile and web clients.
This was our most productive year so far. The scope and complexity of the projects we worked on in 2013 increased dramatically and we focused on doing more projects for fewer clients. Our goal for 2013 was to establish long-term working relationships with our clients and to become extensions of their teams. We also opened an office in Belgrade for our development team and ended the year with 9 team members, having served 13 new clients.
This is a year of reflection and reassessment as we encounter obstacles. This allows us to correct and learn from past mistakes, strengthen our foundation and increase our productivity. As a result of learning from our challenges, we are able to take on larger, multifaceted projects with a more strategic approach. We end our year with 2 new team members, for a total of 11 employees, having served 15 new projects.
A year of progress as we begin to focus our attention specifically on e-commerce and warehouse management systems. We continue to look inwards in order to refine internal processes and strengthen client services. Our office in Belgrade upgrades to a much bigger and fancier office in order to accommodate our growing team that jumps another 2 new members and a hamster. 2015 welcomes 20 new projects and a great perspective on 2016.
This is the year we’re going to finally start working on our own products! At least that was the plan before we got swamped with client projects. The size of projects we started taking on increased and now the game turned into quality over quantity, meaning we took a smaller number of projects but bigger and more challenging ones. We declined an acquisition offer and our team increased to 19 people.
In 2017, we spent most of the year trying to keep up with all the incoming new projects. Although we planned to spend time developing some product ideas, we were overwhelmed by the number of awesome companies that wanted us to help them build their products. Our Montreal office was expanded at the end of the year and our team increased to 26 people.

How we help turn ideas into business capabilities.
First, we'll spend some time with you and your team to define the scope of the project.
Then, we'll prepare detailed specifications and plan the timelines for delivering your project.
During this stage, our team of wizards will first build a prototype and then refine it until it becomes the final product.
We'll work with you to make sure the most valuable step of the process is a success!
After the launch, we'll measure and track usage, performance and other variables to understand how the product is being used.
Based on the data we gather, we'll help you iterate until you find the winning product-market fit.
